Health & Travel Certificates
Every country and state have individual standards and requirements that require extensive research by a USDA accredited veterinarian. Therefore, our client relations team may not know at the time of your call whether we will be able to assist you. Interstate or overseas travel can require several months’ notice for pets and international travel requires a copy of your pet’s medical records. Please be sure to contact us as soon as possible.
The endorsement process for international travel varies from country to country and can be quite complex. Some countries have more stringent requirements than others. This includes various testing, internal and external parasite control, microchip requirements and the timing of rabies vaccinations and travel. If the proper timelines are not met or the proper paperwork is not completed, your pet may not be able to travel or not be allowed to enter the United States on arrival home.
Please visit the USDA/APHIS website for travel requirements for your destination state or country. This will help you determine if your pet is eligible for travel.

The CDC also has separate requirements for importing dogs into the US after international travel. These requirements only apply if you are traveling to a country that is high risk for rabies. The CDC requires an ISO compliant microchip and additional paperwork for any dog that is returning to the United States.
